AKIPRESS.COM - Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran reached about $86 million in the first 8 months of 2019, a member of the Presidium of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Suvhanmurat Atayev said.
Speaking at the Turkmen-Iranian business forum "Development of trade, economic, business cooperation between the two countries" in Ashgabat on Oct 16. Atayev said Turkmenistan mainly exported dried fruits, mineral fertilizers, seeds of agricultural crops, cotton products and cotton fibers.
Iran exported iron pipes, profiles, steel structures, vegetables and fruits to Turkmenistan.
He also emphasized that there are all possibilities for establishing the Turkmen-Iranian joint production enterprises. Atayev called on Iranian businessmen to consider the opening of industrial production plants and facilities in the free economic zone, which will be created in Turkmenistan, business.com.tm reported.
