Mongolia, Turkey vow to expand tourism cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - As part of his visit Turkey on December 5-9, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia N.Tserenbat met with Mehmet Ersoy, Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Montsame reports.

Minister Tserenbat said that the necessary conditions are being created to broaden cooperation in tourism industry, increase the number of tourists and strengthen friendly ties between the two countries through the citizens.

The sides agreed to establish memorandum of cooperation between the two Ministries on intensification of cooperation, to set up Tourism Information and Promotion Center of Mongolia in Turkey as well as to open Turkish Cultural Institute in Ulaanbaatar city and Mongolian Cultural Center in Istanbul.

Tserenbat invited the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri to visit Mongolia in 2020 and made proposals on making investment in creating natural complex in Orkhon Valley, making it a national tourism park and transforming Kharkhorin airport into international airport. Furthermore, the Minister requested to regularly organize consultative meeting of tourism industry of the two countries and jointly conduct ‘Steppe’ exhibition in Turkey next year.

In addition, the sides came to a decision to cooperate in mutually increasing promotion of tourism sector of the two countries in the future.
