President Battulga, WHO Director-General discusses coronavirus outbreak

AKIPRESS.COM - During the World Economic Forum, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga held a meeting with Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Adhanom on January 22, Montsame reports.

The sides expressed their concern over coronavirus outbreak in China, the southern neighbor of Mongolia. The WHO Director-General then advised to enhance monitoring at the border for now as borders are instructed to be closed if deemed as an epidemic, and noted the importance of following the advice issued by the WHO, and prepare the readiness of hospitals as large movement of people happens not only domestically, but also internationally during the Chinese New Year.

Battulga requested the WHO Director-General to give special attention to the outbreak of coronavirus, and discussed health issues caused by air pollution.
