Kazakhstan to continue preventing spread of coronavirus in reinforced form

AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Berdibek Saparbayev on February 5 held a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Emergence and Spread of Coronavirus in Kazakhstan, the press service of the Prime Minister reports.

According to the Minister of Healthcare Yelzhan Birtanov, there are currently no cases of coronavirus infection in Kazakhstan. Sanitary and epidemiological control is underway at all checkpoints across the state border with China, during which 21.8 thousand people have been examined from January 6.

“On Feb. 5, 2020, 104 people with a fever were hospitalized, 71 of them have already been released from the hospital. Thirty-three people remain in hospitals, all have been tested for coronavirus — the results are negative,” Birtanov reported.

There are 780 citizens, including 559 students, of Kazakhstan in China today. Today, 427 people asked for help in returning to Kazakhstan, the rest expressed a desire to stay in China. The Foreign Ministry is working through diplomatic channels on the possibility of organizing the flight of our citizens.

Passengers who have tickets for flights to China from Feb. 3, 2020, will be refunded or reissued at the place of purchase. There are no problems in this matter, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Berik Kamaliyev said.
