AKIPRESS.COM - Border authorities of Kazakhstan said the Kordai checkpoint from Kazakh side and Ak-Jol checkpoint from Kyrgyz side will be closed from Feb 20 for reconstruction.
Spokesman of the State Border Service of Kazakhstan Kanatbek Sultanov said it's unknown how long the checkpoint will be closed, though the Kyrgyz side said it plans to complete repair works until the end of 2020.
The State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan has said earlier the Ak-Jol checkpoint on Kyrgyz-Kazakh border will be closed for modernization from Feb 20 but for vehicles and goods only.
The pedestrians will be able to cross the border without any hand-luggage, according to the reports.
