AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received President of the Air Astana airline Peter Foster on February 24, Akorda reported.

Peter Foster informed the President about the current situation and plans for further development of the national air carrier, including increasing the volume of domestic passenger air traffic, opening new international routes and measures to reduce the cost of air tickets.

According to him, after the launch of the “Fly Arystan”, the company’s low-cost subsidiary airline, Kazakhstan has become one of the countries with the fastest growing domestic air transportation market in the world.

In addition, the head of Air Astana informed about updating of the air fleet, in particular about the replacement of the Boeing-757 to the long-range aircraft Airbus A321, as well as plans about the introduction of the Boeing-787 by 2023.

The head of state noted the importance of further developing the “Open Skies” policy and opening new foreign routes, particularly, to Singapore, New York and other global cities.
