AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia’s Minister, Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government and Head of Mongolia-India Intergovernmental Commission L.Oyun-Erdene on March 4 met with Ambassador of India to Mongolia M.P.Singh, Montsame reported.

Cabinet Secretariat L.Oyun-Erdene paid a visit to India this January. As a result of the visit, the sides resolved several issues on further advancing bilateral relations and trade and economic cooperation to a new level.

During the meeting held yesterday, they talked about preparation works for India’s Foreign Minister S.Jaishankar’s visit to Mongolia scheduled for this May, as well as celebration of the 65th diplomatic anniversary between Mongolia and India, export of Mongolia’s coking coal to India and opportunities to conduct its trial transport in the near future. The sides also touched the issue on launching space satellite.

“The Government of Mongolia attached great significance to coking coal export to India, setting up a working group. If the side of India accepts the proposal, we have willingness to conduct trial transport of coking coal in the near future,” said Mr. L.Oyun-Erdene.

There is possibility to transport coking coal to India by rail through the Russian Federation if the sides reach an agreement to export coking coal.
