Mongolia decreases number of public transport until March 17

AKIPRESS.COM - In connection with the first case of the COVID-19 infection recorded in Mongolia, the Emergency Commission of the capital city discussed intensification of works to be carried out for prevention of coronavirus infections, Montsame reported.

Authorities of the Capital City Public Transport Department were ordered to decrease the number of buses to serve the public by 50 percent until March 17.

According to the given directive, a total of 650 buses are providing the service. It means the number of buses in service has decreased by 35 percent than the ordinary days, said B.Otgonsukh, road and transport development projects’ leader of the capital city.

Public transport service will not be stopped in the case the situation becomes tougher. Measures will be taken in stages further. The number of buses will be reduced by 35 percent on weekdays and by 50 percent on weekends, he added. According to the special regulation, buses will serve in every 30-35 minutes, which was 15 minutes.

In addition, buses in public service are being cleaned and disinfected before and after the services.
