COVID-19 fight. Kyrgyz citizens and organizations donate money to contain coronavirus (updated)

The Islamic Development Bank allocated grant funds of $350,000 through the "Fael Khair Program" to the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan. These funds were used to purchase 30,400 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test kits with reagents to detect coronavirus.

The PCR test kits arrived in Kyrgyzstan on April 8. The PCR tests were developed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health of Turkey and were certified by the World Health Organization.

The Soros-Kyrgyzstan Foundation has donated 1,000 protective suits to the city's mobile medical teams of the City Health Department. Personal protective equipment has been manufactured in Turkey.

To date, 500 protective suits have been given to doctors of the national clinical infectious diseases hospital.

UNDP has started supplying the necessary personal protective gear to doctors and nurses on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19. Initial support included 50,000 masks and 2,000 respirators.

UNDP will also soon provide 10 ventilators and 6,500 tests. The total amount of support is US$500,000.

The Issyk-Kul Development Fund and Kumtor Gold Company provided financial assistance to prevent further spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Issyk-Kul region. ADAM University, in addition to the previously transferred financial aid of 100,000 soms to combat the pandemic, has decided to provide targeted assistance to medical workers of Tokmok Territorial Hospital. Vita Talas dialysis center handed over 7,000 masks to 4 regions in Talas and 5 protective clothing items to the regional hospital.
