Mongolia to donate meat worth $1 million to Russia

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolian Cabinet decided to deliver a $1-million worth meat aid to the Russian Federation on May 20, Montsame reports citing the Minister of Foreign Affairs Damdin Tsogtbaatar.

The number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Russia has exceeded 300 thousand, with the death toll around 3,000. Earlier, the President of Mongolia Kh. Battulga visited China during its hard time of COVID-19 outbreak and donated 30 thousand sheep.

"Our country maintains a comprehensive strategic partnership with its two neighbors and adheres to a foreign policy concept to develop relations with them at the same level. In this context, a policy of equal treatment must be pursued. That’s why the government has decided to donate USD 1 million-worth aid of meat at this time when the situation has worsened in Russia. On the other hand, as saying ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed,’ the worldwide can overcome the pandemic by helping each other in these difficult times" emphasized the Foreign Minister.

The government has resolved the financing and will organize the aid-delivery by finalizing the issue regarding meat preparation and logistics shortly.
