194,706 people received first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - As of April 6, 194,706 people received first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Health Minister Alexei Tsoi said.

73,110 people received second dose, Tsoi said. Vaccination campaign started in Kazakhstan on February 1.

As of April 6, Kazakhstan's tally stands at 256,837. Seven regions in the country, namely Nur-Sultan and Almaty cities as well as Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Almaty, Akmola, and Aktobe regions are in the ‘red zone’, the highest in a three-tier system used in Kazakhstan in terms of spread of the coronavirus infection.  

The number of daily cases surged by 30% in March compared to February.

9,983 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the country over the past 5 days.
