Mongolia-Kazakhstan consular consultative meeting held virtually

AKIPRESS.COM - The 10th consular consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held virtually on May 20, Montsame reports.

The meeting was co-chaired by Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Munkhtushig and Director of the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Akataev Bauyrzhan and attended by Mongolian Ambassador to Kazakhstan L.Battulga, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Mongolia Zhalgas Adilbayev, Head of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia N.Uuganbayar, and representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, Ministry of Road and Transport Development, and the National Police Agency.

The sides discussed bilateral consular relations and cooperation and exchnaged thanks for the humanitarian assistance provided in sending stranded citizens home on charter flights amid the pandemic.

The meeting also talked about a range of issues such as resolving problems regarding citizens with dual citizenship, expanding cooperation between justice ministries and law enforcement authorities of the two countries, and resuming regular flights in phases through mutual acceptance of certificates of COVID-19 vaccination and negative COVID-19 test result.
