Kyrgyz State Puppet Theater and UNICEF present a new play 'Funny, Very Funny Vaccine'

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz State Puppet Theater named after M. Zhangaziev, with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), stages a new play "Funny, Very Funny Vaccine". The premiere of the performance will take place at the Puppet Theater on November 7 at 11:00.

The play "Funny, Very Funny Vaccine", based on the famous "Keremet Koch" cartoon, tells about Akylai and her friends who are fighting antagonists which circulate around us: invisible bacteria, infections, virus, rubella, etc. The play explains the importance of vaccinations and debunks children's fears of syringes and injections, explaining the importance of this procedure for improving health.

During November 2021, the performance will be staged at the Puppet theatre and will also make a tour in Chui oblast, visiting hundreds of children in 16 schools in Panfilov, Zhayil, Moscow, Sokuluk, Alamudun, Issyk-Ata, Chui, Kemin districts.

“Vaccines save millions of children’s lives every year. This message about the effectiveness of vaccination needs to be understood by all, including children. Therefore we support innovative ways to reach parents and children. More particularly we appeal to parents to seek information from trusted sources and protect their children in their very first months oflife before they are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases,” said Christine Jaulmes, UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan.

All children of Kyrgyzstan can get free vaccination against 12 deadly diseases in accordance with the National Immunization Calendar. Despite constraints, Kyrgyzstan manages to maintain the high levels of immunization rates. This project is the result a joint efforts by three ministries - Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Culture, Information, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic with support from UNICEF and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI).
