U.S. requires full course of COVID-19 vaccinations for air travelers

AKIPRESS.COM - The Biden Administration is adopting a new international air travel policy that is stringent, consistent across the globe, and guided by public health, the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek said.

Starting November 8, foreign nationals traveling by air to the United States will be required to complete a full course of vaccinations and provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding a plane to the United States.

Unvaccinated travelers, whether US citizens, legal permanent residents of the US, or a small number of exempt unvaccinated foreign nationals, will now need to be tested within one day of departure.

For those who are vaccinated, the requiement for testing remains the same - within three days before departure.

Children under 2 years old do not need to test.

You are considered fully vaccinated:

- 2 weeks (14 days) after your dose of an accepted single-dose vaccine;
- 2 weeks (14 days) after your second dose of an accepted 2-dose series;
- 2 weeks (14 days) after you received the full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine (not placebo) in a clinical trial;
- 2 weeks (14 days) after you received the full series of a Novavax (or Covavax) COVID-19 vaccine (not placebo) in a phase 3 clinical trial;
- 2 weeks (14 days) after you received 2 doses of any “mix-and-match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines administered at least 17 days apart.
