AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the UN Under Secretary-General, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Ms. Ghada Waly, who arrived in Tajikistan on a working visit.

The issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of programs and projects of UNODC in the field of preventing and combating drug trafficking and crimes were in focus of discussions.

Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin praised the current level of cooperation between Tajikistan and UNODC in addressing security challenges and threats, including international terrorism and extremism, organized and cyber-crimes, illicit drug trafficking and trafficking in persons, and emphasized the UN role in that, inter alia through the provision of technical assistance, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said.
