Uzbekistan and IAEA sign cooperation framework for five years

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have signed a cooperation framework for five years.

The document sets out priority areas for the transfer of nuclear technology and resources for technical cooperation.

Construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan using Russian technologies is expected to begin next year. The plant is due in 2030.

Earlier in July, the International Atomic Energy Agency conducted monitoring, inspected the country’s potential and declared that Uzbekistan is ready to build a nuclear power plant.
