AKIPRESS.COM - Fruit trees were planted on around 70 ha area in Kara-Bak rural municipality, Batken district, the district administration said.
This land was not used for many years. It is rented now by a Kuwaiti citizen, who decided to plant fruit trees there. He plans to donate grown fruits to needy families, widows and orphans.
50,000 saplings of 11 kinds of fruit trees were planted in total, including apple, apricot, pear, plum, peach trees, as well as grapes.
The Kuwaiti national has spent 30 million soms (about $354,000) in total for the project, which included installation of drip irrigation system.
