AKIPRESS.COM - The United States Agency for International Development opened a Resource Center for Nutrition and Evidence-Based Medicine at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University (ATSMU).
The Resource Center for Nutrition and Evidence-Based Medicine will be a center of excellence on nutrition and healthcare research and promotion. Drawing on global examples of best practices, the center will give both undergraduate and graduate students new ways to improve the quality of medical services throughout the Republic of Tajikistan, including information on ways to reduce child malnutrition and other related health issues in the country.
The Resource Center for Nutrition and Evidence-Based Medicine will increase the level of knowledge among the university staff and students on nutrition and evidence-based medicine; advise on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Clinical Guidelines and Protocols aimed to improve the quality of medical care in medical institutions; and create an information database on nutrition and evidence-based medicine for the implementation of educational and scientific activities at the pre- and postgraduate level of medical education (students, clinical residents, interns, undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students, students of advanced training courses and professional retraining).
