20 passengers evacuated after motor ship in Issyk-Kul lake catches fire
AKIPRESS.COM - The motor ship caught fire during tour of the Issyk-Kul Lake.
The incident occurred today at around 4:00 p.m., when the motor ship was one kilometer away from the shore near Komsomol village.
According to preliminary information, the fire occurred in the engine room.
The crew extinguished fire on their own. Scooters and boats from nearby vacation hotels were called. 20 passengers were evacuated, including children, region police department said.
The motor ship was tugged to Cholpon-Ata.
The investigation was launched into the incident.
