AKIPRESS.COM - The archival service of the Ministry of Digital Development shared a photo showing a prominent Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov in his office.
The photo was taken in 1963 or almost 60 years ago.
Aitmatov was born on December 12, 1928 and died on June 10, 2008. He is one of the best known figures in Kyrgyzstan's literature.
He was an outstanding Kyrgyz writer, People's Writer of the Kyrgyz SSR (1974), Hero of Socialist Labor (1978).
His major works include Jamila (1958), The First Teacher (1962), Farewell, Gulsary! (1966), The White Ship (1970), Cranes Fly Early (1979), The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years (1980), The Place of the Skull (1987), and others.
