AKIPRESS.COM - A delegation of the U.S. Congress arrived in Uzbekistan to discuss the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan – American cooperation, including the expansion of inter-parliamentary interaction, UzA reported.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, the delegation included the Co-Chair of the Caucus on Uzbekistan in the U.S. Congress, Congressman Representing the First District of Mississippi, Trent Kelly, and a member of the Ways and Means Committee, Congressman Representing the 18th District of Illinois, Darin LaHood, as well as their staffers.

American legislators will hold bilateral meetings with the leadership of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, as well as ministries and agencies in Uzbekistan. The delegation will also get acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of the country.
