AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the head of the Japan Association of National Universities, President of the University of Tsukuba, Kyosuke Nagata, in Tokyo, UzA reported.

The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in education, science and training highly qualified personnel for the economy of Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan directs significant efforts and funds to the comprehensive development of the education system and training of qualified personnel. The Japanese side highly appreciated the measures for the modernization of science and education in Uzbekistan.

Kyosuke Nagata noted that the announcement of 2023 as the Year of Human Care and Quality Education is a manifestation of the President's particular attention to education.

The President of the Japan Association of National Universities expressed his readiness to make additional efforts to promote a partnership between the universities of the two countries.
