
AKIPRESS.COM - The Delegation of the European Union in Turkmenistan organized a debate tournament for students on gender equality at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on March 3, the EU delegation stated on their website.
The tournament brought together students and teachers from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages, named after Dovletmammed Azadi, International University of Humanities and Development.
The tournament consisted of two semi-finals and a final, where teams from four Turkmen universities competed for first place. The event was attended by guests from embassies, private sector representatives, as well as students and teachers.
"The European Union always aims to provide its best expertise, and support the development goals of Turkmenistan, and remains committed to continue the fruitful cooperation in a friendly and mutually beneficial manner. By working with youth and students of the Turkmen universities, we aim to promote the European values, confirm our commitment to cooperate with you as future professionals and to support the academic circles of the country," Chargé d'affaires Renata Wrobel said.
The Student Debate Tournament was held for the first time in the Turkmen language and was dedicated to International Women's Day.
Team from Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly became the winner of the tournament.
