AKIPRESS.COM - Military personnel of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, who participated in the elimination of the earthquake consequences in Türkiye for 24 days, returned to Tashkent, UzA reported.

A medical team of the Ministry of Defense, consisting of military personnel, on behalf of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, departed for Türkiye on February 8 to eliminate the consequences of an earthquake and provide medical assistance to the victims.

The personnel provided medical assistance to 3,860 citizens, of which 1,795 were men, 1,177 were women and 888 were children.

The Deputy Minister of Defense and other officials, as well as representatives of the general public and the media met the medical team at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov on March 6.
