AKIPRESS.COM - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of the New Tashkent city project concept and construction projects in the capital, UzA reported.

The head of state launched the implementation of the New Tashkent project on March 18. 

During presentation, issues regarding the implementation of the first stage were considered.

It is planned to build apartment buildings for 60,000 people, administrative buildings for government agencies, parks, social and economic facilities. A directorate was established to design and coordinate all the activities.

Information was provided on the action plan for design and construction work. It was noted that modern approaches to urbanization, smart technologies will be used.

The meeting participants discussed balance between infrastructure, living space and ecology in the city. The Green Belt of Tashkent project is considered as part of the project. Underground parking lots, 14 modern tunnels, 7 bridges across the Chirchiq and Qorasuv rivers are planned to be built.

Proposals for the placement of trade and service facilities under the flyovers of the elevated metro in Tashkent were also considered. In particular, there is free space 4 kilometers long on the section of the line running through the territory of Yashnabad district. Green areas, parking lots, workout areas, trade and service centers can be created there.
