AKIPRESS.COM - Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliyev met OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid at the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna on March 31.

The OSCE Secretary General congratulated Ambassador Omuraliyev on his appointment as OTS Secretary General and wished him success on this post.

Secretary General Omuraliyev provided update on the latest developments in the Turkic world and expressed OTS readiness to develop institutional relations with the OSCE in various areas of cooperation, especially on energy, climate change and interconnectedness.

Secretary General Schmid noted that the OSCE is closely following developments in the region and is also interested in cooperation with regional organizations. In this context, the parties highlighted the overlapping goals and discussed possible areas of cooperation between the two Organizations.

Views were also exchanged on relevant security issues, which hold an important place in the regional and global agenda.
