AKIPRESS.COM - The meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture Sultanbay Raev was held as a videoconference on April 6.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and the TURKSOY.

Appreciation was expressed to the Secretary General for the decision to declare 2024 the "Year of poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi", and the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world. An exchange of views took place on holding joint events dedicated to the date.

The parties also noted the significance for the Turkic world of the 30th anniversary of the International Organization of Turkic Culture in 2023.

Attention was paid to the issues of holding significant events in the member countries, including the Days of Culture of TURKSOY in Turkmenistan.
