1.2m soms allocated for Sulukta nursing home, where 89yo man and 59yo woman got married

AKIPRESS.COM - An elderly couple, 89-year-old Marsel Basymov and 59-year-old Ruzivonai Ohunova, got married in the nursing home for the elderly in Sulukta town, Batken region.

The newlyweds were gifted a blanket, a set of bed sheets, and slippers by the Batken region administration.

In addition, 1.2 million soms were allocated for the construction of an additional building for the Sulukta nursery for the elderly and people with disabilities of the Ministry of Labor. Relevant instructions given to the Sulukta mayor's office to allocate additional land.

Murtazakul Jurabaev, the head of the Sulukta nursing home, stated that this was the first wedding registered in their facility. The couple was given a separate room to live in, and a festive evening was organized for them.

Marsel Basymov used to work as an artist and receives a good pension. On their wedding day, he bought a gold ring and earrings for his wife costing 30,000 soms. The couple is now living happily ever after, he said.

The facility currently houses 18 elderly people.
