Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to U.S. President

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov presented his credentials to United States President Joe Biden at the White House, in Washington, D.C.

“It was a great honor and privilege to meet President Joe Biden”, Furkat Sidikov wrote on his Twitter page. I am eager to enhance the friendship and collaboration between our nations and further strengthen our Strategic Partnership.

Furkat Sidikov, who previously worked as the First Deputy Foreign Minister, is 52. In 1993 he graduated from the Tashkent State Technical University and worked at the UzDaewooElectronics joint venture, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan. Since 2002, he held various posts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system, including the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, Ambassador to Pakistan, Deputy, and First Deputy Minister. Speaks English and Russian. He and his spouse are raising four children.

He replaced Javlon Vakhabov, who in 2017-2023 was the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States and concurrently in Canada and Brazil, UzA reported.
