Rural village in Naryn resolved drinking water issue that has been a problem for 23 years

AKIPRESS.COM - The village of Oro-Bashy in Kochkor district, Naryn region has successfully resolved the issue of drinking water supply.

Some 100 families reside in the village. The community has been working on this problem for the past 23 years.

The water scarcity issue was severe and villagers used water from distant mountain slopes during winters, while in summers, they used to drink water from a large ditch.

To address this issue, the member of the local council and the village head developed a project and found funding.

The region's Development Fund contributed 1,200,000 soms, while the residents collected 1,800,000 soms. Additionally, 1,000,000 soms were allocated from the village's budget. This collective effort enabled the provision of clean water that meets sanitary standards. Each household was connected to the water pipes, ensuring access to clean water. The total cost of the project amounted to 6,200,000 soms.
