
AKIPRESS.COM - The 9th International Yoga Day was celebrated by the Embassy of India in cooperation with the Mongolian Yoga Federation and many prominent yoga centers at Sukhbaatar Square on Sunday.
The celebration began with the traditional lighting of a lamp by Mongolia's first yoga teacher, 74-year-old Baigali Rentsendoo. A video of a special Yoga Day message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was shown during the event.
The highlight of the Yoga Day 2023 celebration was a performance by Mongolian yoga teachers "Surya Namaskar" (Sun Salutation) with Morin Khuur, followed by Common Yoga Protocol by Acharya Guruswami from India. Adaptation of yoga postures over Mongolian Bilge dance, aerobic yoga and use of hula hoops by children occurred as part of the event as well.
