Prime Ministers of Mongolia and Vietnam discuss bilateral relations

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai held bilateral meetings with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh on the sidelines of the 14th Annual New Champions Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China, on June 27.

Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai emphasized that Mongolia hopes to expand and further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of transport, railways, aviation, interpersonal exchanges and tourism.

He suggested that both sides enhance the role of the Mongolian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Committee and mechanisms for their cooperation.

In turn, Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to relations with Mongolia and wishes to further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.

The PM of Vietnam suggested that the parties increase the exchange of delegations at the central and local levels, which will strengthen mutual understanding and trust.

Strengthening Vietnamese-Mongolian relations is of great importance for the two peoples on global and regional scales, Prime Minister Chinh said, adding that Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge for Mongolia to expand ties with ASEAN.

The two prime ministers took the opportunity to discuss international and regional issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the role of multilateralism and respect for international law.
