
AKIPRESS.COM - The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the sidelines of the World Export Development Forum (WEDF) 2023, organized by the World Trade Center in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Nepalese pashmina entrepreneurs and Mongolian officials have reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of quality testing and analysis of wool fibers, as well as on the exchange of knowledge and research work in this sector.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA) and the Research and Development Institute of Light Industry (RDILI) of the government of Mongolia.
President of NPIA Vijoy Dugar and Director of RDILI Tormonkh Togmid signed the agreement on behalf of their respective agencies in the presence of Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Madhu Kumar Marasini and State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Zhambaltseren Tomor-Uyaa.
Under the MoU, Nepalese pashmina entrepreneurs will receive samples of pashmina fibre, semi-finished wool and wool products, which will be tested and analyzed by RDILI in Mongolia.
Officials from Nepal and Mongolia also discussed issues to be raised by the landlocked developed countries (LLDCs) in international forums. They stressed the need to build solidarity among LLDCs to advance their common interests and agenda.
