AKIPRESS.COM - The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Myatiev on July 8 takes part in the 42nd General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), which is held in Bangkok (Thailand).

The General Assembly is attended by 45 delegations of the OCA National Olympic Committees, as well as the heads and representatives of the OCA bodies and the International Olympic Committee, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.

The meeting participants will consider issues related to the activities of the OCA for the development of the Olympic Movement, as well as upcoming events under the auspices of the Council.

The elections of the President of the OCA and members of the Executive Committee were held within the framework of the General Assembly. Sheikh Talal Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, head of the OCA Rights Committee, was elected by majority vote as the new president of the OCA for a four-year term.
