AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 10 received the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming, who is in Uzbekistan at the head of the SCO mission to observe the preparation and conduction of the presidential elections, UzA reported.

The SCO Secretary-General congratulated Mirziyoyev on successful holding of the presidential elections, as well as winning.

Issues of further developing multilateral cooperation between the SCO member states and the practical implementation of the initiatives put forward during the Samarkand and Delhi summits of the Organization in 2022-2023 were discussed.

The importance of promoting joint programs and projects in the economy, innovation and high technology, transport connectivity, food and energy security, ecology and green technologies, tourism, and cultural exchanges, and ensuring security within the SCO, was noted.

The parties paid main attention to the continuation of the modernization of the SCO, the improvement of the activities of the Organization's structures, and the adoption of measures aimed at strengthening mutual trust and partnership in the region.
