
AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán during a telephone conversation discussed the continuation of active and systemic political contacts, the acceleration of joint industrial cooperation projects, support for business and humanitarian initiatives, and other important issues on the bilateral agenda, UzA reported.
The Hungarian Prime Minister congratulated Mirziyoyev on his victory in the early presidential elections held the day before, and wished peace and well-being to the people of Uzbekistan.
The parties noted with satisfaction dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.
As such, regular political consultations have been established. The embassy of Uzbekistan was opened in Budapest this March. The trade turnover is growing. The leading European bank OTP entered the banking and financial market.
Joint projects are being worked out in agriculture, the food industry, pharmaceuticals, and other priority sectors. The total investment portfolio is $1.5 billion.
During the telephone conversation, special attention was paid to the importance of accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects and expanding humanitarian and educational exchanges within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission's activities.
