AKIPRESS.COM - Secretary General of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia Luvsandorj Ulziisaikhan met with Secretary General of the House of Representatives of Japan Okada Noriharu on July 20 as part of her working visit to Japan.

Secretary General Ulziisaikhan pointed out that the path, development model, and experience of the Japanese people have become a benchmark for Mongolia, highlighting the significant advancement in the relations between the parliaments of the two countries, Montsame reported.

While noting the substantial attention that Mongolia is devoting to learning from and localizing Japan's experiences and benchmarks, as part of an initiative by Chairman of the State Great Khural Zandanshatar called "Let’s Develop like Japan," she presented some challenges that the Mongolian parliament has faced and its structural reforms.

In addition, she presented the "Parliamentary Education" program implemented by the Secretariat of the State Parliament, along with the activities aimed at enhancing public understanding and knowledge about parliamentarism. In this regard, the Secretary-General also expressed her pleasure in the opportunity to get acquainted with the Japanese Parliament Museum and the Parliamentary Study Program.

For his side, Secretary General of the House of Representatives of Japan Okada Noriharu presented the House of Representatives of Japan and its structure, mentioning the importance and results of high-level mutual visits between the parliaments and governments of Mongolia and Japan. The House of Representatives is the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. The House of Representatives has 465 members, elected for a four-year term.

Both parties acknowledged the ample opportunities to enhance cooperation between the Parliamentary Secretariats of the two countries. The discussions covered various aspects of parliamentary development collaboration, encompassing the exchange of experiences and skills between the Secretariats, providing training opportunities for staff, studying each other's country's experiences, and drawing insights from other nations as well.
