First UNOPS office in Central Asia to be established in Tashkent

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with UN Under-Secretary-General, Executive Director of the Office for Project Services Jorge Moreira da Silva, in New York, UzA reported.

The parties exchanged views on intensifying cooperation by implementing joint projects in education, healthcare, and ecology, according to the Telegram channel of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

They also signed the Agreement between the government of Uzbekistan and the United Nations on the establishment of the UNOPS Office in Tashkent, which will be the first in Central Asia.

"We believe that the representative office will serve to further enrich our ties, especially in implementing the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy and SDGs," the message says.
