Ulzii-Orshikh Myagmarsuren stood out during the game, scoring two consecutive 2-pointers to extend Mongolia's lead to 15-10 with over three minutes to go.
Hong Kong, China fought hard afterwards and pulled within 19-20 with just 15 seconds left on the clock. In a critical moment, Myagmarsuren dribbled and made a game-winning shot, helping Mongolia reach 21 points first to deny any chance of a comeback for Hong Kong, China.
Hong Kong, China remains winless after three matches so far.
"We came close after the pause but fell short in the end. The opponents had some quick attacks, and our toughness was not enough. However, I believe that if we can get more training and teamwork, we can achieve better results," Lam Man Kei Anson of Hong Kong, China said after the game.
