AKIPRESS.COM - The 25th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will be held in Samarkand on October 16-20. Tourism industry representatives from more than 150 countries are expected to attend the event, UzA says.

The session program includes various meetings, investment and educational forums and exhibitions.

Large-scale preparations for the forum, including coordinating the preparatory work, plans to provide transport services to guests, provide guides, and organize cultural and educational events, are underway in Samarkand.

"This event is a recognition of the development of the tourism sector in our country. We will demonstrate our capabilities to tourism industry representatives from more than 150 countries and promote our rich culture, traditions, and values. This will be an impetus for a further increase in the flow of tourists,"  Head of Department at the Tourism Committee Feruz Dodiyev noted.
