Chairman of Mongolian Parliment receives Ambassador of China

AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav received Ambassador of China Shen Minjuan on October 13, Montsame notes.

Newly appointed Ambassador Shen Minjuan expressed her satisfaction that relations and cooperation between Mongolia and China are at the most friendly moment in history and that she is being appointed as the 18th Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia.

The Regular Meeting Mechanism between the Parliament of Mongolia and the National People's Congress of China will celebrate the 10th anniversary in 2024. The Ambassador expressed her willingness to host the next meeting of the Regular Meeting Mechanism in 2024.

The two heads of state set a goal of attaining a $20 billion trade turnover between Mongolia and China. Trade turnover had reached $15 billion as of August 2023. The Ambassador stressed the high significance of the Permanent Cooperation Mechanism of legislative bodies of the two countries to create new cooperation opportunities in all fields, including agriculture and farming, in addition to mining.

Chairman Zandanshatar emphasized the importance of the relations between the legislative bodies of Mongolia and China in creating a favorable legal environment for trade and economic cooperation, an important component of the Mongolia-China strategic partnership. 

The Chairman expressed confidence that the Ambassador would actively work to develop the partnership through supporting relations and cooperation between the legislative bodies.

He expressed his readiness to cooperate in intensifying activities of the Regular Meeting Mechanism between the Parliament of Mongolia and the National People's Congress of China and regularizing the frequency of the exchanging experience between friendship groups in the parliaments, standing committees, and parliamentary offices of the two countries. 

The Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Regular Meeting Mechanism between the Parliament of Mongolia and the National People's Congress of China was signed in Beijing in 2014. Four meetings have been held since then.
