
AKIPRESS.COM - 3,879,000 (duplicated number) passengers entered the border of Mongolia as of September 2023. It increased by 2,614,000 (3.1 times) from the same period last year. As of the initial nine months of this year, 1,942,000 passengers crossed the border in the first nine months of this year, GoGoMongolia says.
1,421,000 (73.2%) of the passengers who entered the state border are citizens of Mongolia, and 521,000 (26.8%) are citizens of foreign countries. 521,000 foreign citizens entered the country in nine months, which is an increase of 299,000 or 2.4 times from the same period last year.
89% of foreign citizens arrived for up to 30 days, 2.5% for 60 to 90 days, and 8.1% for 90 or more days.
486,000 (93.3%) foreign passengers were adults, 35,000 (6.7%) were children, 293,000 (56.3%) were men, and 227,700 (43.7%) were women as of September 2023.
54% of foreign passengers who entered the border are from East Asia and the Pacific, 40% from Europe, 2.9% are American, 1.3% from the Middle East, and 1.0% from South Asia and Africa.
The number of tourists who entered the border in the first nine months of this year reached 486,000, an increase of 275,000 or 2.3 times compared to last year. The number of Russian tourists increased by 68,400 or 67.3%, of South Korean tourists by 78,400 or 2.7 times, of Chinese tourists by 73,100 or 11.6 times, and of Japanese tourists by 11,400 or 3.4 times.
