AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov made a statement for media following the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO countries on October 26 in Bishkek.
"The 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held today, which was attended by member States and observer States, as well as heads of international organizations and permanent bodies of ths SCO.
During the meeting, we exchanged views on the prospects and measures to deepen cooperation between the SCO member states in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres in the new conditions.
As a result of the SCO Heads of Government Meeting, we have signed and adopted 14 documents.
The most significant outcome document is the Joint Communique of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member States, which reflects the agreed positions of the parties on the current agenda items and further development of multifaceted cooperation within the SCO framework.
We have also approved the Secretariat's Report on activities and meetings conducted as part of the Program for Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation among SCO member states and heard reports on the activities of the Interbank Association and the SCO Business Council.
To further strengthen cooperation in the railway administrations and international railway transport in SCO member states, as well as in the field of e-commerce and trade, relevant documents have been approved.
We have also made several decisions regarding the activities and financial matters of the permanent bodies of the SCO.
We have conducted a constructive dialogue on a wide range of global and regional development issues, including discussions on the current aspects of trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Participants of the SCO Council of Heads of Government Meeting emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science and technology, environmental protection, healthcare, sports, tourism, and youth policy, as this serves as the foundation for maintaining and strengthening friendship and good neighborly relations among SCO member states.
I am confident that today's meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government in Bishkek marks an important milestone in the practical implementation of the priority tasks facing our organization and ensuring the continuous progress of the SCO.
In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that Kyrgyzstan's participation in the SCO is a top priority in the country's foreign policy.
The Kyrgyz Republic, as one of the main founding states of the organization, strictly adheres to the principles and provisions of the SCO Charter and the Treaty on Long-Term Good Neighborly Relations, Friendship, and Cooperation among member states of the organization. Kyrgyzstan is also ready to contribute to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation within the SCO framework."
