
AKIPRESS.COM - President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with President of the National Assembly of Laos Saysomphone Phomvihane to discuss cooperation on November 6.
President Khurelsukh noted that Mongolia and Laos are developing relations and cooperation based on mutual support and benefit.
It was also noted that the official visit of the President of the National Assembly of Laos to Mongolia this September strengthened ties between the highest legislative bodies of the two countries and made a valuable contribution to the development of cooperation between the friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries.
National Assembly President Saysomphone Phomvihane said the Lao government and parliament attach great importance to the state visit of the President of Mongolia.
He also confirmed that he would work closely to strengthen the legal framework for relations between Mongolia and Laos, as well as expand and develop inter-parliamentary cooperation.
During his visit, Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa also met with Prime Minister of Laos Sonexay Siphandone to discuss further cooperation.
The Prime Minister asked the Mongolian leader to strengthen trade and investment cooperation by facilitating a meeting of representatives of the private sector of the two countries and discussing possible partnerships.
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone noted the successful development of relations and cooperation between two countries over the past 60 years.
According to the PM, this visit of the President of Mongolia is important for determining the prospects and direction of cooperation for further development of relations between the two countries.
