AKIPRESS.COM - Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the "Human Rights-75" high-level event is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, on December 11-12, Montsame reports.
Heads of state and government, Foreign Ministers, and other high-level dignitaries from over 130 countries convened at the "Human Rights-75" high-level event. The Mongolian delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh is participating in the event.
The "Human Rights-75" high-level event, organized by the UN Human Rights Office, is designed to review past achievements and mistakes, reaffirm commitment to freedom, equality, and justice that are enshrined in the Declaration of Human Rights, expedite the fulfillment of human rights universally over the next 25 years.
On the first day of the "Human Rights-75" high-level event, countries presented their voluntary commitments to upholding human rights.
Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg proposed the Mongolian government's "She for He" initiative, aiming to address the challenges faced by men and boys within the framework of the common goal of ensuring gender equality.
Minister Battsetseg also announced Mongolia's commitment to adopt and implement the National Program (II) for Ensuring Human Rights in Mongolia and to establish a regional training and research center of the United Nations in the country.
Additionally, other parties involved in human rights, such as national human rights organizations, civil society, and the private sector, will present their commitments at the event.
