AKIPRESS.COM - Samarkand International Airport is among Europe’s Top 5 largest airports regarding passenger traffic growth rates in International Europe (ACI Europe) ranking. UzA reported.

In October, Samarkand Airport took fourth place in the category of regional and small airports with passenger traffic from 100 thousand to 1 million people per year with an increase of 139% compared to October 2019, and in 10 months – third place with an increase of 103.7% compared to the same period in 2019.

The airport’s route network continues to expand. Since the beginning of this year, flights from Samarkand have been operated on 7 domestic and 20 international routes. Flights to Tel Aviv, Urumqi, Jeddah, Kuwait, Izmir, Mineralnye Vody, Ufa, Samara, and Urgench were opened for the first time.
