The President of Uzbekistan conveyed greetings and best wishes to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The sides discussed issues of further developing good neighborliness and in-depth strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The progress in implementing previously reached agreements, including within the framework of interparliamentary dialogue, was also reviewed.
The parties noted with deep satisfaction the intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation in all priority areas.
The trade turnover will exceed $1 billion in 2023. Trading houses have been opened in the capital cities of Tashkent and Ashgabat, and joint work is underway to create the Shavat-Dashoguz border trade zone.
Cooperation between leading enterprises of the two countries in industry, energy, agriculture, and transport is intensifying, and interregional contacts are expanding. This year, the Intergovernmental Commission and Business Council meetings were successfully held.
Joint events are held within the framework of the cultural and humanitarian program, including Culture Days, tours of creative groups, and others.
Views were also exchanged on essential aspects of regional cooperation in Central Asia. The meeting schedule for 2024 was reviewed.
