There is no safe dose of alcohol, doctors say

AKIPRESS.COM - The Republican Center for Health Promotion reminded that there is no safe dose of alcohol.

According to doctors, every alcohol drink causes the body to experience enormous stress and destruction.

"All organs and systems of the body suffer from harmful effects of alcohol. However, the brain is affected most of all. Each dose of any alcohol leads to a persistent reduction in the number of cells in the cerebral cortex, and this process is irreversible: the cerebral cortex is not restored," doctors note.

So, on average, 100 ml of a strong 40-degree drink kills 1000 cells of the gray matter of the brain, which the body excretes in the urine the next morning.

"Australian scientists have proven that even among those who drink alcohol moderately (2-3 times a week), the size of the brain gradually decreases, leading to dementia - alcoholic dementia. Alcohol is closely linked to approximately 60 different diseases, and in almost all of these cases there is a direct relationship between dose and response. In other words, the more a person drinks, the higher the risk of getting sick," the Center said.
