Billiards World Championships kicks off in Bishkek (photos)
AKIPRESS.COM - The Billiards World Championships in combined pyramid opened on February 27 in Bishkek.
145 athletes (128 men and 17 women) from 18 countries are participating.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, Minister of Culture, Information, Sport and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov, Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev and spectators attended the opening ceremony.
24 local athletes are participating in the event, including 3-time world billiards champion Kanybek Sagynbaev and 2-time world champion Dastan Lepshakov.
The semifinals and finals will be held on March 1-2, the Ministry of Culture said.
