Japan to provide humanitarian aid to Mongolia in dzud relief efforts

AKIPRESS.COM - The government of Japan, upon the request of the government of Mongolia, has decided to provide emergency relief goods to Mongolia in response to the damages caused by the dzud, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan reported.

The aid includes blankets, portable jerry cans, generators and other goods. It will be transferred through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

"In light of the humanitarian perspective and the close relations between Japan and Mongolia, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to Mongolia to support people affected by the dzud," the statement of the Foreign Ministry noted.
